Six Local Student Projects Go to Science Fair

Six projects from Costa Rican students will go to the International Science and Engineering Fair in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in the United States, according to the bulletin of the Chamber of Information and Communication Technology (Camtic).
The May 13-18 event will showcase the scientific and technological efforts of 1,500 students from 65 countries.
The fair is organized and sponsored by Intel, which has a major plant here in San Antonio de Belen. The projects developed by talented young Costa Ricans include:
- A software de system for ambulancias
- A natural healing remedy called Mildiú
- A reusable Braille printer with a keyboard
- The use of waste as filters in sewage treatment
- A smart robot that helps people with disabilities
- A classification table for medicinal plants
These six projects were selected at the National Science and Technology Fair on January 27th, held at the Intel Factory in Belén.
